Update: Tuesday 15/07/08
The Dingle Sailing Club Summer Race Series 2008 will be kicking off this Thursday, July 17th.
So, if you would like to take part in some racing, come along to the centre at half six, meet everyone, get yourself registered and the first gun will be at half seven.
Even if you have never raced before, you are welcome to join in, it's all about taking part and having fun, although some people take it more seriously than others!
Whatever kind of dinghy you sail, you will be accommodated, and the Portsmouth Yardstick handicap system will be used to level the playing field.
Hopefully we will see you there!
Update: Thursday 17/07/08
The first night of the Summer Race Series was held in mixed conditions, with the moderate winds abating to near calm as the racing neared an end. With intermittent fog and drizzle, it was not the most pleasant evening for sailing, although this didn't deter any of our young competitors.
Two races were run, with the sailors competing in two fleets, divided according to experience, and competition was fierce in both categories.
All the competitors are currently eagerly awaiting the results of the corrected times, which will be posted on the Club noticeboard in the morning.
